Tropical Freeze is the absolute king of 2D platformers and one of the best games ever made! DKC2 is an awesome game as well but doesn’t hold up compared to Tropical Freeze.

I beat all the challenges you mentioned, and got every figurine from the machine, but there's still 3 figurines i can't get from the machine, and I can't figure out how to get them . Anyone know?

My favorite part was "The machine was named coda". You walk up to a machine, you question it, you get no reaction what-so-ever and then you walk to 100 people with cameras and make stuff up. And then you destroy the machine, and Davie is talking about the work becoming "self-destructive" and he has to step in and help, when he is very clearly the force doing the damage

Nah there are only 2 endings. The rest of what you mentioned are side objectives. Wonder how the dlc fits in or if that gives a more complete experience

I know a lot of my points are what you said, but here’s my interpretation of the game (and yes, maybe a little pretentious sounding). The game is about us, it’s about people who wrap themselves up in escapism. The game is filled with mystery and intrigue. The game shows the player how Henry was wrapping himself up in something that was far more engaging than his real problems, the same reason we all play games in the first place (the reason we’re playing this game too). And he ended up being important in none of it, he wasn’t at the center of a mystery, he put himself in the center of a situation he got caught up in as a subconscious coping mechanism. I felt like Delilah was a physical manifestation of Henry’s escapism, she was the last possible thing at the end where everything else became rationally explained, the one thing that was actually real was the person that Henry needed to learn to let go of, because otherwise he would’ve never grown past his desperation for some kind of escape. As pretentious as it sounds I truly think people’s genuine frustration of the ending comes from not understanding it. I hear too many people say things like “it feels like they wanted a mystery game but gave up halfway” or something to that effect. I honestly feel like the story went over the heads of people who believed that, it feels like they missed the fact that the story NOT being an actual mystery was the point of why it built up to that. I’ve also seen someone claim that the message is “people with problems will always run away from them? That’s a stupid message.” Which to that I say that that isn’t the message, that’s more the situation, the message is in how game ends, a reminder to both Henry and the player that we inevitably have to return to reality. The message is that escapism won’t remove your real problems. The game is about YOU the player, the person who wants to disappear into the worlds and stories of the games we love, so that we can forget those real issues. Henry still has a wife with dementia to go home to.

Just so you know the 3 and 2 endings are the same so just 3 endings

I wanted to meet Delilah but I wasn't about to make her wait for me in the middle of a forest fire if she had the chance to get out. I thought Henry might not make it out. I was a little unsatisfied with the end which is why I came here looking for an explanation and I guess it has stuck with me if I am still thinking about it. But yeah I chose to put Julia in a home to get the support she needed. It was a tough choice but I knew if he was counting the SECONDS until a nurse came twice a week that he just couldn't physically do it and it wasn't going to end well.

“The worst is when you get mad her” “you contemplate for a minute putting a chair in front of the bed room door so you can go out for the night….you feel awful.” Really great simple effective writing about dealing with the reality of your 40 something wife dying from early onset dementia.

People don’t talk about the “choice” prologue text…ultimately inconsequential but still beautifully tragic…really makes you feel sad for him even when it seems that he has already moved on…after you are pushed out of wife’s live by her parents after early on set Alzheimer’s makes her not remember you telling you you are basically just in the way.

Even if DKC2 is a masterpiece, as a fan of the first DKC, I find it difficult to consider it a true DKC, because DK is not there and graphics and enemies seem superdifferent to the first game ones. For that reason I suppose I really like more Country Returns and Tropical Freeze, they are more "DKC1 based".

I don't even know how you can complete the picture compendium. I already run out of room, and have to delete pictures to make room for new ones. Can you save them on a memory card or something to save more pictures?

I got 84 shrines down, and 46 more to go (not counting the DLC shrines) I don't have time to play for hours on end a day but I do try to complete at least 2 or 3 a day. My quota used to be a minimum of 4 a day, but now that i've already gotten most of the really easy ones, all I have left are the harder ones to get. I want that BOTW armor set!

I’m somewhere in between 3 and 4. I just thought the ending was trash. OoT still has the best ending in my opinion.

8 years later I still play the game every year or so and it still gives me the emotional rollercoaster I experienced in my first play through, I hope someone someday makes firewatch 2

DKC Returns is my favorite of them all. The buildup to the last boss is epic it just dose it for me. I much prefer the Tikis over Kremlins or the Snowmads. I also find the difficulty much better than Trolical Freeze, to me Tropical Freeze is the easiest Country game, K levels excluded.
